Jewelry reveals its quality in the details: the weight of the metal, the depth of the carving, the movement of a hinge and the way a surface changes with wear.
At DALBIA, material integrity and considered construction are central to every piece.
925 Sterling Silver
Our sterling-silver jewelry is made from an alloy containing 92.5% pure silver. The remaining 7.5% gives the metal greater strength and durability than fine silver, allowing it to hold detailed forms, secure settings and functional components.
Products made from a different material will always be identified clearly on the individual product page.
Sculptural Detail
DALBIA designs are defined by texture, depth and recognizable form.
From miniature skulls and skeletal hands to longer, more architectural silhouettes, each piece is shaped to remain expressive at its intended scale. Recessed lines, raised surfaces and three-dimensional contours allow even compact designs to retain a strong visual identity.
Intentional Oxidation
The darker finish is deliberate.
Oxidation deepens recessed areas and creates contrast against polished high points. This process makes engraved lines, cavities and sculptural details more visible while giving the silver a timeworn character.
Because oxidation reacts with the shape and surface of the jewelry, small variations in tone and pattern may occur between pieces. These variations are part of the finish rather than defects.
Forming and Finishing
Depending on the design, a piece may be cast, formed, soldered, assembled, oxidized and selectively polished.
Raised areas are finished to reveal the natural brightness of sterling silver, while darker tones are retained within deeper details. Sharp edges are softened where required for wear, and functional components are assessed for appropriate movement and alignment.
Subtle finishing marks may remain visible under close inspection. They reflect the physical processes used to create dimensional metal jewelry and do not affect normal wear.
Functional Details
Certain DALBIA pieces include functional elements such as:
-
Articulated jaws
-
Hinged components
-
Ear posts and closures
-
Spring-ring clasps
-
S-hook clasps
-
Connecting rings and pendant bails
These components are designed to move within a specific range. They should always be handled gently and never forced, twisted or repeatedly bent beyond their intended movement.
Weight and Construction
Sterling silver is a precious metal, but weight alone does not determine quality.
The appropriate weight depends on the scale, structure and intended comfort of the design. Some compact pieces are dense and substantial, while larger forms may use considered construction to remain comfortable to wear.
Dimensions and approximate weight are listed on each product page to help you understand the physical scale before ordering.
Natural Variation
Slight differences may occur in:
-
Oxidation depth
-
Surface tone
-
Polished highlights
-
Measurements
-
Weight
-
Alignment of movable components
These variations are expected in finished metal jewelry and make each piece subtly individual.
Quality Inspection
Before dispatch, each piece is inspected for its overall finish and relevant functional details. Depending on the product, this may include checking:
-
Clasps and connecting rings
-
Ear posts and closures
-
Pendant openings
-
Articulated components
-
Surface condition
-
Selected quantity and variation
Jewelry remains a wearable object and should be treated with appropriate care. Delicate chains, posts, hinges and closures can be damaged by pulling, impact or improper storage.
Designed to Evolve
Oxidized sterling silver is not intended to remain visually unchanged.
With wear, raised surfaces may become brighter while recessed details retain more of their darker tone. The result is a piece that gradually develops contrast and character shaped by how it is worn.
